I'll start this post with this warning:
If you are a vegetarian....you may want to quickly close out this window.....I'm talking about meat today...lots of it....the kind of meat, that if you are a vegetarian, may just make you change your mind about that decision....
I'm talking about
I made this for dinner last night...and my very own picture is making my drool.....
With this particular recipe you will need to start with pork....
the best cut of pork for a job like this is
Boston Butt
I usually go all out and buy a 5 or 6lb cut and freeze the leftovers.
To insure quality tastiness....I make a dry rub to marinate with
This recipe started with Tyler Florence (food network superstar) and a good friend of mine who said, "you have to try this!!"
I have changed it up a bit to make it my own...you can do the same
but here is my recipe
2 teaspoons garlic powder
1 tablespoon dry mustard
4 tablespoons kosher salt
5 tablespoons paprika
1/2 cup dark brown sugar
Mix all of this goodness together and get your rub on....cover and let sit for at least an hour, overnight is even better
To cook this tasty treat I use my Rachael Ray Covered Casserole dish

Set your oven to 300* and wait....and then wait some more....I promise it will be worth it! Your entire house is going to smell so good and you will be hungry all day just from the smell alone...but, you must wait....
Cook for 4 to 5 hours until the meat falls off the bone and pulls apart easily
If that wasn't enough....how about a sauce to go along with it??
Again, this is a revamped Tyler Florence recipe...I just tweaked to my taste
1/2 cup brown mustard
1/2 cup ketchup
1/2 cup brown sugar
1/4 cup apple cider vinegar (use less if you want, but I like a tangy sauce)
1 teaspoon garlic powder
heat all in a sauce pan, and simmer for about 5 minutes or so. Taste it....if you like it sweeter add more brown sugar....if you like a little more spice, add more mustard......
Oh....I hope you will try this....it is so good!
Now, if you will excuse me I need to go heat up my leftovers :)
